Evolving Partnership
The Collective for Radical Death Studies is committed to creating and curating important educational programming that allows for the public to engage with thoughtful albeit tough topics that permeate all areas of the death, dying and disposal community. In 2022 the National End of Life Doula Alliance (NEDA) approached us and inquired if we could create an educational offering for their end-of-life practitioner community. The inaugural NEDA-sponsored 4-part series titled “Whose Life/Death Counts?” was born in addition to our bi-montly Rad Death Reads programs. We are excited to announce that our partnership with NEDA continues to evolve and in 2023 we are deepening our relationship with a newly NEDA-sponsored 3-part series titled “Grief at the Intersection of Social Justice''.
Upon completing this series, end-of-life practitioners will come away with a better understanding of how people with historically marginalized identities experience death and mourning, thus enabling them to provide a more compassionate and culturally competent service to their communities. Rad Death Reads won’t be open to NEDA members only, it is open to everyone interested, as long as tickets are available. Learn more about current and past NEDA-sponsored programming below.
The National End-of-Life Doula Alliance “NEDA” is a diverse and inclusive 501c6 non-profit membership business league that serves as a “big tent” for those who share its mission, vision, and values; and who seek to learn about, promote, and provide educational and professional support for its members. NEDA's mission is to influence positive changes in how people experience end of life by developing and advocating numerous efforts that improve access to a broad spectrum of holistic non-medical support provided by end-of-life doulas (EOLDs). Our goal is to elevate the role of EOLDs to a position that is recognized, understood, utilized, and well-integrated into mainstream end-of-life care practices.
